2 oz. 100% agave Tequila. Blanco or a light Reposado

4 oz Agua de Melon ( Melon Water ) see note below

1/2 oz Damiana Liqueur

1/4 cup crushed or small cubed ice

Shake it all in a cocktail shaker. Pour into a salt rimmed glass martini or margarita glass. Also great served up.

To make Agua de Melon:

Slice 1/4 of an average watermelon into cubes and remove seeds. Place melon cubes into food processor to make 1&1/2 to 2 cups of watermelon puree. Add 5 cups cold water and 1/2 cup sugar.

If you cannot get the Damiana Liqueur you may substitute with Triple Sec or the like and the salt is optional. However, in my opinion the salt makes this drink. It reminds me of my childhood in Texas where we learned to sprinkle salt on watermelon.
